Machine preparation: • Calibrating and setting lathe parameters (spindle speed, feed rate, etc.). • Loading materials onto the machine using a hoist or manually. • Selecting and installing appropriate cutting tools.
Lathe operation: • Performing operations such as turning, boring, threading, and facing. • Monitoring machine operation to ensure compliance with technical requirements. • Adjusting settings during operation to maintain dimensional tolerances.
Quality control: • Inspecting finished components using measuring tools such as micrometers or dial indicators. • Comparing results with technical drawings or project specifications.
Maintenance and care: • Regular cleaning and lubrication of the machine. • Replacing worn cutting tools. • Diagnosing and troubleshooting minor faults.
Requirements
Experience working with manual lathes (minimum 2-3 years).
Ability to read technical drawings.
Knowledge of metalworking principles and turning techniques.
Proficiency in using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
Ability to work with large and heavy components.
Attention to detail and compliance with safety regulations.
