Shipyard fitter – aluminium (Any gender)

Our client is an industrial group specializing in metallurgy and its broad applications. One of their key areas of operation is the shipbuilding industry, where they construct new vessels at a shipyard in Cherbourg. The range of ships produced by the company includes passenger boats, service vessels, and patrol craft, most of which are constructed from aluminium.

Job responsibilities

The employee will be responsible for assembling hull components, as well as prefabricating them based on technical drawings and instructions from supervisors. The primary material used in the work is aluminium. Components are assembled using spot welding.

Experience working with aluminium is not required – only a willingness to learn how to work with this material.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a fitter,
• Ability to read technical drawings,
• Spot welding skills.

Preferred (but not required):

• Driving licence,
• Proficiency in English or French.
