Shipyard fitter – Aluminium (Any gender)

Our client is an industrial group specializing in metallurgy and its diverse applications. One of the company’s key sectors is shipbuilding, where they construct new vessels at their shipyard in Cherbourg. The range of ships manufactured by the company includes passenger boats, service vessels, and patrol boats, most of which are constructed from aluminium.

Job responsibilities

The employee will be responsible for the assembly of hull components and their prefabrication based on technical drawings and supervisor instructions. The primary material used is aluminium. Components are assembled using spot welding.

Previous experience working with aluminium is not required – only a willingness to learn how to work with this material.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a fitter,
• Ability to read technical drawings,
• Spot welding skills.

Preferred (but not required):

• Driving license,
• Knowledge of English or French.
